RISE stands for Rights, Integrity, Safeguards and Equity in carbon markets.
RISE seeks to advance community-led forest carbon projects in Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. The goal is to promote policies, regulations and practices that enable local leadership, uphold customary land rights and place fair, inclusive benefit-sharing at the core of carbon markets.
RISE is a project designed for everyone—from customary landowners to governments and policy decision-makers—encouraging a collective approach to supporting locally owned and high-integrity carbon projects.

Our project
RISE will work alongside existing civil society and private sector networks, as well as forest governance and climate finance initiatives already engaged in national policy processes.
The project will share knowledge and evidence from project case studies and policy analysis, strengthen capacity and policy dialogue and advocate to international policy and market actors for locally led carbon projects.

We bring expertise on a diversity of topics for projects led by Indigenous Peoples and local communities.
